Timothy W. Murphy, 77, of Solana Beach, CA, founder of San Diego Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon, died peacefully on August 18, 2022. Tim was born on July 5, 1945 in Denver, Colorado. He was predeceased by his parents, Elizabeth M. and William B. Murphy, and his brother, Daniel J. Murphy. Tim was raised in Lincoln, NE and attended Pius X High School.
Tim is survived by his sisters Kathleen Murphy and Maureen Murphy, her husband Jerry Giordano, nephews Patrick Giordano and Michael Giordano, niece Amy Murphy Reede, her husband Matt and children Kaeden, Callan and Mya, and close friends. A short graveside service will be held at
9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022
at El Camino Memorial Park,
5600 Carroll CanyonRoad, San Diego, CA.
Following the service a Celebration of Life will be held at The Alexandria at Torrey Pines,
10996 Torreyana Rd, San Diego, CA,
from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
