Thomas (Tom) Rohr, 70, of San Diego, passed away March 11th, 2017 at his home. He was born to Gerald Rohr and Imogene Nance, on February 15th, 1947, in San Diego, California. Tom graduated from Mission Bay High School in 1966. In 1967 he married the late Dale Swenson – his High School Sweetheart. Shortly after marrying, Tom served for two years in the Vietnam War, concluding his service as Specialist Five in 1970. After returning from Vietnam, Tom secured a position at a local aerostructures company, ironically named Rohr Industries, Inc. He worked with the company for forty years in positions ranging from Electrical Assembler to his most recent title as Contract Engineer, proving that his diligence on the job did not go unnoticed. In his last year working with the organization, he even helped them to patent a device for Airbus Helicopters Deutschland. Outside of his vocation, some of his favorite hobbies included watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, taking brisk walks around the neighborhood, catching up on the daily news, learning about history, and being the best Dad/Husband ever. Tom is survived by his mother Imogene, and four children: Chad Dylan, Jeremy Donovan, Gabriel Dustin, and Lindsey Sarah. He is also survived by two grandchildren.
