1. Your United States Government career began in October 1954 when you joined the United States Air Force Reserves from which you were honorably discharged in May 1957. In May 1957 you enlisted in the United States Navy from which you were honorably discharged in February 1961.
2. You resumed your Government career in October 1961 when you reported to the Overhaul and Repair Department, Naval Air Station, North Island, San Diego, California as an Aircraft Accessories and Equipment Repairman. Through promotions you attained the position of Aircraft Mechanic.
3. You contributed towards the accomplishment of the total mission of the Naval Aviation Depot, North Islands, and San Diego, California through your participation in the Beneficial Suggestion Program through which two of your suggestions were adopted.
4. During the course of your career, you received Letters of Appreciation. You received Sustained Superior Performance Awards in November 1974 and 1985, and October 1981; a Commendation Certificate for your Exemplary Sick Leave Record Usage for Calendar Years 1978’; Special Act Awards in August 1986, September 1990, February 1992, January 1993 and July 1994; a Sick Leave is Money (SLIM) plaque for zero sick leave for 26-consecutive pay periods ending November 1987; and Performance Awards in July 1988, August 1990 and 1992, and November 1991.
5. Your contribution to the efficiency of the United States Government is one of which you can be justly proud. You have the appreciation and gratitude of me and the Unites States Navy for your valuable contribution in the defense of your country.
