Ted is survived by his wife, Maria Elena Recidoro; his children, Anthony and Therese Recidoro; his granddaughter, Quinn Amelia Recidoro; his sister, Rore Manglapus; and his brother, Emmanuel Recidro. He is predeceased by his mother, Resurreccion Recidoro; his father, Rosendo Recidoro; and his brothers, Neil and Joselito Recidoro.
Ted was born on November 21, 1959 in Balete, Aklan, Philippines. He attended the college of his dreams University of the Philippines, but transferred to help take care of his family and graduated from University of West Negros in 1982 with a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering. Ted worked for the National Steel Corporation in Illigan City after graduating. In 1989, Ted immigrated to the United States. On November 9, 1991 he married his beautiful wife Maria Elena, a registered nurse from Bacolod City. They welcomed their son and daughter on December 14, 1992 and February 24th, 1999 respectively. Anthony and Therese’s happiness and their opportunity for success was his greatest motivation and the most important thing to him. He had a successful career as a civil engineer for the City of San Diego for 29 years before retiring in 2018 and starting a new job working for Bureaus Veritas. He was passionate about his career and the community in which he lived and served.
Ted was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed being in nature, watching his daughter play tennis, and walking his dogs, Simba and Buddy. He loved sports, particularly basketball, and shared this love with his children. He was a spiritual man who dedicated himself to his Christian faith and attended Catholic mass with his family regularly. He also served as President of the Balete Association which provides opportunities for scholars in their hometown of Balete. Ted was a selfless, intelligent, and funny man who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
