I have no clue who this is, but my name is Tatum Layne Cox. And i am so sorry for the loss of another tatum.

Oh my God ... I just learned about Tatum's passing today when I got a miss directed message from Bob in Chicago, he was actually trying to call Steve but left me a message on my v.m.

I am so sad I don't understand she was the best attorney ever and a great person she actually cared and actually wanted so much for me and my son it's really getting to me it makes me so sad I miss her i will send prayers to her family 

Tatum was always so incredibly bright, warm and friendly and always made me feel so welcome at any gathering I attended with her and her amazing husband Bryan.  Sending my deepest condolences in this difficult time.

The Dufrene Family

I am shocked and heart-broken to learn of Tatum’s passing.  She is an incredible light.  I first met her as a child.  As she grew into adulthood I was around her every couple of years and loved her energy each time I met her.  But through the years, I felt like I knew the story of her life because her father would proudly tell me all about her as we did business.  Her volleyball, her studies, her trips, her becoming an attorney, her marriage and so many more details.  About every year or two when I had the privilege of spending time in person with her, we were at an awkward disadvantage: She only knew a little about me, but I felt like i knew a lot about her because of her father’s accounts.  I know one thing for sure - Steve loves her and is very proud of her.  And each of the many times I met her, I could see why.  She was happy, outgoing, energetic, smart, gracious, and wonderful to be around.  My heartfelt condolences to Steve, Nona, Bryan, and all of the family.  I love you all and feel deeply for you.

I still can’t believe she’s gone. When I first started working at DLS, I didn’t know anyone. Tatum immediately took me in not only as a court partner and a coworker, but also as a friend and confidant. We spent so many grueling hours downtown together, it blurred the lines between work and “the real world.” Countless chardonnays, trials working together or against each other, and mountains of discovery later, we forged a bond that’s hard to describe and that I’ve never had with anyone else. She was so easy to talk to. She seemed to understand me in a way not many people do... but that was just her way. She could put people at ease, whether it was a client, a coworker, or a friend. She made people comfortable and she made things feel okay. I will miss her more than I ever could have imagined when we first met... but I feel so lucky to have spent the past 2 years fighting the good fight by her side every single day. All my love. 

I remember the first time I met Tatum...we had a difficult case with difficult clients.  We decided to meet at the Lazy Dog to talk about our trial strategy. Our conversation on the case was brief and then we quickly moved into other topics...our jobs, friends, and family. You see...Tatum was the kind of girl you instantly adored. Her personality was captivating. We knocked back a few drinks, overendulged in some appetizers, and laughed. We laughed a lot. I remember coming home and telling my husband that I met such a cool girl and couldn’t wait to hang out with her more.  From there I saw Tatum quite often and each time I felt lucky to be around such a fun, charismatic, compassionate woman.  I am not surprised to read some of these comments from her clients or their families because she was a firecracker in the courtroom. She took her job seriously and she was passionate about her cases and making sure her clients were treated fairly (which isn’t easy in dependency). I am sad for myself to have lost my friend.  My heart breaks for all the people that are suffering from this loss. May you  rest in peace Tatum. 

I only worked with Tatum for a short time, but every time I walked into the courtroom, she was smiling. I remember once,  while I was working at a different job and having a rough day, I ran into Tatum and a few other former coworkers downtown . Though she didn’t know me well, she listened to my plight and offered kindness and encouragement. I will forever be greatful to have met her. My sincere condolences to her family and to her work family. She will be missed. 

I met Tatum through her appointment  in our very difficult dependency  court case. Tatum  has been representing my son and had the best interests of him In the forefront. She was strong and compassionate and very compelling. She was able to reach my son  and to gain his trust. Which, believe me, was no easy task.  For us she was a shining light and a beacon of hope.  I can say that for the short time we knew her, she did Make a positive impact  on our lives. For that, I will always be grateful for  Tatum’s presence  in our life. I send my Sincere condolences to her family and her  loved ones.

My family and I had the great honor of getting to know Tatum during a grueling court case where she truly was our son’s only advocate. After the case was settled Tatum continued to work for us on her own time, pro bono, advising our son right up to the time of her passing. In the two years that we were blessed to get to know Tatum we began to think of her as a part of our family. We rejoiced with her in her new marriage and when we learned of her passing we mourned her loss as our own beloved girl. Our family prays for your family’s comfort in this sorrowful time. Tatum will be forever in our hearts and this family will be forever  grateful to her for all her kindness towards us, her dedication to her mission and for the sacrifices that she, without hesitation, made for us. Thank you Tatum, we love you dear, our friend, our advocate, we owe you so much, you will forever  be in this family’s heart.

Tatum and I grew up down the street from each other and I can easily say she was one of the most genuinely kind hearted people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet. Constantly worrying about others well beings and offering any support she could. Although we hadn’t been in touch for a few years the news of this has left a huge hole in my heart, I am sending all of my love and thoughts to her family. Rest In Peace Tatum the world lost one of the good ones. 

I had the honor of working with Tatum in the courtroom on one particular case that I will never forget for the rest of my years in social work. Tatum was such an advocate and gave 1,000% in that which she did. She was strong, courageous, intelligent, witty, and kind. During those months the trial continued, Tatum persevered, standing firm in what she believed in and gave it her all. She has truly made an impact on my life. May peace and comfort go to her family and loved ones during this difficult time. My prayers go out to them.

There are no words to express our sorrow, Steve and Nona. Losing a child turns the universe upside down. May the light she brought to the world never grow dim in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. We will hold you in prayer in the days and months ahead. 

I only met Tatum once, years ago at your summer home on Lake Tahoe.  I thought she was one of the prettiest girls I had ever seen. She was attending college and had plans to go to law school. She was gentle, friendly with us and our much younger children, and so mature for her age. Nona and Steve, your pride was obvious. Her presence made me wonder what it would be like to have a daughter like her. Through the years you kept me and Stan informed about her progress, becoming a lawyer, getting married, choosing to become a public defender. She made you so proud and she was so inspiring to me, even though I knew Tatum primarily through your words. I have no adequate words to describe the sorrow Stan and I feel. I have no adequate words to express how I would like to help you through this most sad time. You raised a fantastic person! May the memory of her help you alleviate the pain of her loss.

Tatum has been part of the Cameron Family for many years.  She was Stacey's very good friend, and was like another daughter to Tony and Susie. 
Tatum brightened the room just by being in it.  She was a beautiful, sweet young lady who will be remembered with love.

I met Tatum through work and we were on opposite sides of our work. She was always a bulldog when it came down to getting things done and advocating for what she believed in. She had a lot of spark and was really a great person, who never hesitated in sparking up a conversation she will be missed. My condolences to her family. May she Rest In Peace.
