In June 2020, Auntie invited us to come visit her in Florida.  In July 2020 we were able to travel and spend time with her.  Not knowing the severity of her illness, we arrived to see a mere shadow of a once vibrant personality.

We spent two weeks with her initially, and discussed and supported her through her medical issues.  She had a great sense of humor even in the face of knowing life on earth would be coming to an end soon.  But she never waivered in her faith and looked forward to being reunited with her beloved Danny.

She had a great time being reunited with her "Marilyn" and getting to enjoy life with family.

While visiting with Auntie, we convinced her to share the state of her health with her children.

When we finished our visit with Auntie, we knew she would finally find peace and comfort with her loving God and would be reunited with her Beloved Danny.




Auntie Choleng lived with us in Manila when I was a little boy prior to her moving to the US.  She was kind and took me to many places including at her work, restaurants, and family gatherings.  

I frequently visited and stayed with Auntie and Uncle Danny during business trips to the East Coast.  One of my fond memories with both Auntie and Uncle was when we drove to Washington DC during a blizzard and had a very nice dinner at a Brazilian Steak House. 

I will miss my Auntie dearly - her great sense of humor,  easy-going demeanor, and overall kindness and generosity.  

Your family and friends lost a great soul but heaven has gained an Angel.



Thank you Soledad for including me in your life. I wish I could have come to visit you in Florida. Soledad is my neice  Alicia's  husband's  mother.
She stayed at my home a few years ago at Christmas time. We travelled around with the family, her grandchildren,  Olivia, Elena. and Lucas , and my sister Cathy and her husband Rob and Alicia and Randy.
It was a joy to be with her. She filled my home with love and kindness and friendship. It was the best Christmas since my brother Michael passed.
I will miss her. She was a good friend, a good grandmother, a good mother, a good wife. A good  Christian,  a good good person. Bye bye Soledad. Til we meet again. A loving God is with both you and Dan.

Auntie Choleng was a wonderful woman who always managed to bring a smile to anyone's face. All of my memories of her are of a warm, welcoming home, filled with food, love and good company. 

She had this sharp wit about her, and she always found a way to lighten the burden of anyone who came to confide in her. She cared deeply for her family, and always made sure that they were well taken care of. 

I'll never forget the amount of help she and her family put into making my debut the most fun and memorable experience before I went off to college.  I'm also so glad I was able to visit with you in retirement in Florida, just to hang out and have lunch. 

To Auntie Sherry, Uncle Randy, and the rest of the family, you are all in our prayers and we send our love to you in this difficult time. May the Lord watch over you in the coming days and help you all find peace.

Autie Choleng, you have always supported me,   After my father died, you and uncle Dan had stepped in and supported me emotionally throughout my ordeal,   I am forever grateful to you and Uncle Dan.  I will always remember you telling me not to worry anymore.  It’s so hard to believe that you are gone,   It just seem as if I just talked to you recently.  I love you Auntie, May you Rest In Peace with  Uncle, my Mom and Dad.

When your mom and dad moved to Englewood, Kim and I were excited to  have relatives to live in Florida. As her niece, I know what a special lady Tita Choleng was. I am sorry for your loss. I'll miss both Uncle Dan and Tita Choleng.

Sole was a sweet and loving person.I appreciated so much that she came all the way across the USA to be with me and attend my husbands funeral with only a year since Dan passed. She so desired to be with him and now she can. Blessings to the family and those who loved her.
