After working and living in different parts of the world for a decade, this photo was taken of myself and Shaughn. His response summed it up. “Catch up of the decade” indeed. I’m so grateful to have seen you a couple of times before travel was shut down due to the pandemic.

One of the best people I will ever meet and I will always cherish the memories of film shoots, tv pilots driving the Great Ocean Road and all the laughter we shared.

Jules and I love this photo. It makes us smile so hard, remembering our wedding reception and the good times had. Shaughn was front and centre. Simply the best.  My friendship with Shaughn goes way back. I have always held Shaughn in the highest of regards. A mate, brother, and mentor. Most of all, a gentleman through and through. A truly special man, full of passion, wisdom, and dignity. He loved Celia and his kids so much. An amazing protector and provider. Shaughn's absence has been felt immediately and deeply by us. He will be forever missed. There is now a hole where he used to stand. 

We pray for those left behind. May God grant you comfort during this unbearably painful time. May God grant you the strength to hold onto the beautiful memories and remember Shaughn legacy.

We are very sorry and shocked to hear about the passing of Shaughn. Our deepest condolences to both families . Celia we are praying for you and Scarlett and Flynn to find the strength you need at this time and  difficult times . 
Celia and I met whilst studying in Sydney 
In 2002 and we have been friends ever since . We’ve shared many wonderful memories together , laughs , dinners , birthdays and really enjoyed celebrating Celia  and Shaughn’s special wedding day.
 
Shaughn was a rare gem with many amazing qualities, I’m sure everyone would agree. He had a heart of hold, great sense of humour and shared lots of wisdom and knowledge on many topics especially food and wine ! 
Celia we are praying for you and Scarlett and Flynn and your families at this difficult time.

To the Helliar and Leopold families , 

Our deepest sympathy to our dear friend Celia and Scarlett and Flynn . We are extremely shocked and saddened to hear the news about  Shaughn’s  passing . He really was a special gem, a true gentleman with a heart of gold and many wonderful qualities.  Celia and I met when  studying our degree in Sydney and and we’ve been   friends  ever since . We’ve shared many birthdays together ,  dinners and special occasions together especially the wonderful  time at  Celia  at Shaughn’s  wedding , we remember that night fondly. 

Shaughn was always one to have a laugh with , drink with , eat good food  with and always had words of wisdom to offer . He had a great sense of humour and we enjoyed many good times . 

His legacy will live on and we must remember all that he taught us  and shared with us, the good memories and keep his spirit alive . 
Celia we miss you and  you are in our prayers.

The Helliars joined our SMA family around the time our daughter was in 4th grade when they moved to San Diego from Maui.  Scarlett and our daughter Christin were classmates but also school soccer teammates and friends. Though I didn't get very many pics of the parents on field trips I did get this one of Shaughn  when we did the HMS Surprise overnight trip when the kids were in 5th grade. We were in the same group. We had a lot of fun with Shaughn helping out with activities . He was a big help with some of the games and getting the kids engaged especially since we all had to pull overnight duty and coming up with ideas to keep them entertained all night were few to come by. But he was very creative with ideas.  To say we were shocked over his passing is an understatement. Though we have not seen the Helliars since graduation day in 2020, our hearts and prayers go out to Celia, Scarlett and Flynn and the rest of the Helliar family and friends.

This photo was taken at our employee dinner. We all had the best night eating and indulging, even though shaughn claimed to not like the taste of food lol. He was the best manager, boss and friend we could of asked for at dukes. Your legacy will live on ❤️ we love you! 


He was always kind and very caring. I never saw him in a bad mood and I loved being in his company. As friends from 18, it was the purest of friendships. We hadn't experienced adulthood at that point so you were with friends you wanted to be with, not those friends you thought you should be with. Gone but not forgotten. My love goes to his family and friends. A beautiful man and heaven has an extra star tonight.

I met Shaugn in 1987 when I was travelling in Australia. He was such a nice man an we hit if instantly. For a short period of time we were very close and saw a lot of each other. I returned to the UK and, without the internet, we were rubbish at keeping in touch. I heard his news through mutual friends and always meant to catch up. It didn't happen and I now regret that but I will always be grateful for the time I had with him and the happy memories I will always carry with me.
