Roger went to our Lord peacefully in the morning of August 17th at UCSD Cardiovascular Center in La Jolla with his wife at his side. He died of complications from his decades long battle with heart disease and heart failure.
Born in Oglesby, Illinois to Harold and Julia Welsh in 1938, he resided most of his adult life in Chicago where he was an independent Interior Designer for over 30 years as well as a design and sales consultant at several Merchandise Mart furniture showrooms. As a young man he was a floral designer and owner of Roger’s Flower Shoppe in Rochelle, Illinois while serving six years in the US Army Reserves. He retired to San Diego in 2003 to enjoy the wonderful climate and potentially extend his life.
He leaves behind his loving wife and devoted soul mate of over 40 years, Christina Welsh (Krakowski) along with many loving brothers and sisters in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved Scottie dog, Cali.
