Bob was born in Moline, IL, a son to Robert Clarence Lundquist and Gladys (Spencer) Lundquist, on June 2, 1924. As a boy Bob was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America where he reached the highest level of Eagle Scout.
Bob joined the U.S. Navy, construction battalion (CB). He was a proud survivor of the battle of Iwo Jima in WWII. After the war Bob received a letter of gratitude from (James Forrestal, Sec of the navy) describing the accomplishments of the greatest navy in the world. After Bob finished college he enjoyed a 50+ year career with the Boy Scouts of America from which he retired in 1998.
Bob lost his wife Joan in 2012. He leaves behind one son Robert C Lundquist of Paso Robles, CA, one daughter Janet Bauer of Eugene, OR, and one deceased daughter Jeannie McLaughlin of Bullhead City, AZ. He left four grandchildren Seth Bauer, David Bauer and Michelle Bauer all of Eugene, OR and Jason McLaughlin of Bullhead City, AZ. Bob also leaves behind his very dear friend, Ken Anning, who lived with him after Joan passed away and cared for him during his last days of battling cancer.
Services for Robert W Lundquist will be held at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Dr, San Diego, CA, 92106 where he will be interred on Friday April 24, 2015 at 11:30am. The family asks that in-lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
