Richard Boas, 82 years young, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was born in Missouri and after graduating from high school in Salem, MO, he enlisted in the Navy. After serving in the Navy during the Korean War and being employed by the Pacific Telephone Company, he joined the San Diego Police Department in 1956. He earned his B.S. degree in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University in 1971. After 32 years of dedicated service he retired as a Lieutenant from the SDPD in 1988. Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Suzanne; his son Richard Alan, his wife Susan and their two children- Drema and Nicholas; his daughter Laura, her husband Craig and their son's- Spencer and Justin; his son Stephen; and his four great-grandchildren. He was an inspirational and devoted husband and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
