Raymond Leon Lynch graduated Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia in 1965. He joined the United States Navy September 28, 1965, out of Atlanta, Georgia. He served over 24 years honorably before retiring on December 31, 1989. While in the military, he met and married his former wife Maxima(Seming) Lynch and later had two children together. Although divorced they shared a love and friendship that lasted until death due them part. Raymond then went on to have a 27-year civilian career as an Aviation Mechanic. The majority of those 27 years were spent in San Diego at various Naval and Marine Corps Bases. He ultimately retired for good in 2017, against his own wishes as he would have worked forever if he had his way. Some of Raymond’s personal achievements were obtaining the rank of Senior Chief during his Naval career, continuing his career in the civilian world where he was able to continue serving his nation that he loved, but his greatest personal achievement was being a father to his two children and grandfather to his grandchildren. He was a member of the Department of Transportation FAA mechanics. Some of Raymond’s hobbies included socializing with his many friends as well as family, watching NASCAR, running the streets of San Diego, and enjoying any opportunity he had being around Naval Aviation. Raymond had a unique ability to make everyone feel special. He had a knack of being brutally honest while still loving. His smile lit up every room he was in. He was very proud of his grandchildren and talked about them every chance he got. He loved his daily visits to the Miramar Commissary where he visited with everyone. Raymond never met a stranger.
Raymond Lynch was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Lynch Sr., his mother, Jessie Lou Lynch, his brothers: Johnnie Lynch, Roosevelt Lynch Jr., Joe Lynch, James Lynch, Tommie Lynch, Roscoe Lynch, Daniel Lynch, and Larry Lynch and sister, Daisy (Lynch) Reid.
He is survived by his sister, Evie (Lynch) McGee from Flint, Michigan, his former wife Maxima Lynch, his daughter, Raquel (Lynch) Branch and husband Willie Branch of San Diego, California, his son David Lynch and wife Brandy LeForce of Oceanside, California, his grandchildren Briana Branch of San Diego, CA, Khaleel LeForce of Louisville, Kentucky, Elijah Lynch and Alyssa Lynch of Oceanside, CA. He has a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
