Pete, as he liked to be called, was a proud San Diego native, who never lived more than a mile from the beach. He loved growing up on Point Loma with his parents, Baseball Coach Dewey James “Mike” Morrow and English and Art teacher Alice Lane Morrow, who preceded him in death many years ago.
Pete loved cars and boats, especially his 1926 Ford Model T Roadster and his Pinto Woody Wagon. His cars had to have flames and pinstriping and he loved having them low to the ground. He had many cars and boats over the years and was meticulous in caring for them. He was a Lifetime member of the San Diego Prowlers Hot Rod Club and a Life member of the San Diego Yacht Club.
Pete also loved his work in the Marine Hardware Business. He enjoyed spending time with his many loyal customers either sharing his vast knowledge or just having conversations and he always enjoyed meeting new people. No one was a stranger in Pete’s world. He was proud to finish his long career as a member of the San Diego Marine Exchange family on Shelter Island.
Pete is survived by his loving best friend and wife of 47 years, Bobbie (aka Barbara) and his daughters Lori and Alison with his first wife, Luci, and grandchildren Alicia, Tamaryn and Gabriel, and great grandson Daemon. He is also survived by his second wife, Judy Morrow. Pete cherished all of his lifelong friendships!
A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held August 30, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the San Diego Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any animal rescue charity of your choice or to Sharp HospiceCare at www.sharp.com/inmemoryof
