Paul A Conner was my father, my inspiration and my mentor. No, one will be able to replace a man like my father. He received full retirement with the U. S. Navy, along with retiring with the CDF as a Fire Captain. He was a professional Bullrider and was also on the Board for the Sutherland Lake National Wildlife Turkey Federation as a key developer of youths in the southern California area putting in countless hours of mentorship. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors.
More important than that he was great at being a husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. There is not a day that goes bt that he is not missed by his family.

We had only become acquainted with Paul, and later Vikki, over the last 10 years or so, through shared participation in one of the many hunting and conservation efforts that they stewarded.  We felt immediately befriended--Paul had a quick smile, a heartfelt handshake, and a good balance of both humor and patience even when he was working hard.  We always enjoyed being in his company, and we truly appreciate the time he spent mentoring our son.  We're sure that he must have made a similar indelible impact on the lives of many other young people through his volunteer activities as an educator and youth advocate.  It was a privilege to have known Paul, and we want to express our deepest condolences to all his family and friends.  Vikki, please know that if you need us, we will always be there for you!  We are there for you now, with our prayers!

Dear Vicki and family, 
Bean and I were very shocked to hear of Paul’s death. Our deepest sympathies go out to you all during this difficult time. May God give you peace in the days and years to come. I remember Paul making gumbo for us that he took to Uncle Chacho’s house when we went to visit  and he was so proud.

Paul was a very good man, who had a passion for hunting and the outdoors. As a Fire Captain for CDF, he was dedicated and a great leader to his crews.  Paul was a great Hunter Education instructor and made sure every student who took his class, had a full understanding of the safety and responsibility as being hunters and conservationist. He will surely be missed by many friends and outdoorsmen. May God be a comfort to his family and friends during this time of loss.
