Noni Ricarda Mationg

Noni graduated from San Diego State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and was employed by the County of San Diego for 34 years as a Social Worker. She retired from San Diego County at the age of 58.

Noni was the beloved sister of her five siblings. She leaves behind Manuel Mationg, Ofelia Merlau and her husband, Charles, Jose Mationg and his wife Lolita, Victoria Mangarin and her husband, Daniel, and Patrick Mationg.

Noni has six nieces and nephews, Anjelica Mationg, Ricky Mationg, Melissa Mationg, Joey Mationg, Natasha Mationg and Natalie Mangarin Jen. Ricky and Natalie are married to Petr Cihalik and Ken Jen respectively. Noni is also a great aunt to Jayson Huckabee, son of Anjelica Mationg.

Noni’s love of antiquities brought her to distant lands and far away places very early on. She traveled throughout the Middle East and Northern Africa extensively in the early 1990s sometimes staying for 3 weeks in one country at a time. She even got her claustrophobic father to go deep into the Giza pyramid with her. As much as she loved traveling to far away places, the city she always went back to and which remained her first love was San Francisco, that romantic city she lived in when she first arrived with her family in the United States at the age of two, 61 years ago.

Noni was passionate about the welfare of animals and supported many causes and charities on their behalf. Noni will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
