Nancy Daleo passed away on Saturday, March 5 in San Diego, CA after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was 85 years of age. Born Nancy Biundo in 1931 in St Louis, Mo to her parents, Lorenzo and Rita, she moved to San Diego as a teenager and married her beloved husband, Peter Daleo, in 1950. Over the ensuing years, Nancy and Peter raised five children together. Nancy’s life was marked by her unparalleled love and devotion to her family which grew to include fourteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Primarily a homemaker, Nancy also worked for several years as an aid to elementary school-age children, and in retail business. Nancy was characterized by her warmth and gregariousness, and was the matriarchal heart of her familial universe. Her memory is punctuated by her love of music and singing, of cooking for family, and laughter. Nancy is survived by her daughters, RoseRita VanDenover and MaryAnna Kee; her sons, Sam, Peter, and Michael Daleo; and her sister Angela Daleo. She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter; her sister, Rose Gebhart; and brother, Larry Biundo. Nancy will be buried in a ceremony at El Camino Memorial, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego on Thursday, March 10 at 10:00am. We will deeply miss our beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, and are comforted knowing she has now entered the embrace of Jesus and has begun the long-awaited reunion with her husband.
