Michael Angelo Garcia was born in Bronx, NY on September 19th, 1957. He served in the US Navy (Blue Water) in the Vietnam era. After his tour in the Navy, Michael became a firefighter. As a firefighter he was an engineer and was EMT certified. Serving many years on the firefighting side, he transitioned to the Federal Safety Inspection side. Many years later he retired and traveled with his family. He then pursued a career with Cal OSHA. Serving many years he retired from the Del Mar Fairgrounds as their Safety Officer. Michael is survived by his wife, June; son, Joseph; grandchildren, Mariela, Joseph, Gabriel, Jacob and Penelope; sisters, Debra Ann Garcia, Rosemary Garcia, Twin sister Michelle Garcia-Diaz and 9 nephews and 10 nieces.
