I was very fortunate to meet Megan in high school. Her love of life and having fun could only be topped by her love for Angelina Jolie. She was smart, witty and could be brutally honest to you, if you were luckily enough. She was competitive as they come and absolutely fearless. 

My fondest memory of Megan was when we decided to leave school at lunch and skip the next couple of periods. She had been excited for a week or so because her dad just tinted the windows on her car, she thought she was the cats pajamas. I forget exactly where we were headed, but we ended up at a four way intersection close to black mountain park. Before I knew it, she was cranking the steering wheel and we were going in a circle in the middle of the intersection, basically doing doughnuts. I was trying to play it cool, but inside I was terrified. I was white knuckling the handle on the car door and pushing myself into the passenger seat. But what I remember most was looking at Megan, and she was grinning from ear to ear. Her mouth slightly cracked open, laughing her infectious laugh that she had. Her laugh was so distinguishable, you could pick her out in a sea of hundreds of people. Although I was still scared, her nonchalant attitude of the situation helped calm my nerves a bit. 
It was such a small and irrelevant memory, but it will stick with me forever. 

Rest in paradise, Megan. You’ll be forever loved. 


I always loved whenever we were able to meet up with all the Hawkins cousins and kids. Playing board games and playing in the backyard with Megan, Danielle and Lindsey at Aunt Ada and Uncle Howard's house are some of my sweetest childhood memories. Thank you Ron for making time for us when we were able to come down. My heart aches for this loss. I  know she was welcomed with open arms by Uncle Howard, Aunt Judy, my mom and so many others who are waiting on the other side of Heaven's gates that also loved her so dearly. I've been praying for you all and send all my love.

I will always cherish the memories I had with Megan. She was beautiful, joyful, smart and one amazing soccer player. She touched everyones heart she came into contact with and everyone wanted to hang around Megan cause she made us all laugh and was extremely witty. She will forever live on in our hearts.
