Mary Francis Taylor April 21, 1928 - March 16, 2016 Mary Taylor was born to Ava (Bone) Gray and Floyd Gray in Webb City, Missouri on April 21, 1928. In 1943 the family moved to San Diego where Mary graduated from Kearny High School as valedictorian of the senior class. A professional bookkeeper, she joined the Taylor Company of Pacific Beach in 1962 and was married to Vernon Taylor ten years later. They worked closely together in real estate development until his passing in 2006. She died on March 16, 2016.Mary was well known for her beautiful singing voice and entertained throughout San Diego. She especially enjoyed singing the blues, torch songs, and the "old standards." In her later years she devoted her energies to her Carlsbad restaurant, the Bellefleur. She loved and was loved by the staff there. Mary is survived by a daughter, Marla Hicks, and a son, Ron Taylor. Her daughter Lori Motsenbocker preceded her in death. She had fourteen grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the El Camino Memorial Park in Sorrento Valley on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Private graveside services are scheduled. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Earl and Birdie Taylor Branch Library in Pacific Beach.
