Our beloved mother, Mary Ann Crockett (née Lormon), passed away peacefully while at home in Hermosa Beach, CA on July 13, 2022. Mary was born August 20, 1946 in Springfield, MA. She was a devout Catholic, loving wife of 53 years, mother to eight children, and grandmother to fifteen children, to whom she was known as “Marmie.”
To those who knew her best, throughout her life she represented an unwavering spirit, always staying true to herself and her beliefs. She was fiercely loyal to her family and a great judge of character. She relished being a Leo alongside several of her family members and enjoyed dressing in bright colors that she always said embodied the lively and joyful nature of Leos. It is no surprise that one of her mottos and favorite songs was “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” She was an avid reader who took great care to teach her children to read, use proper grammar, and enunciate. With all eight of her children graduating college, she took pride in their academic and professional achievements and liked to be spoiled through their emoluments. Though she was reliably the same person over the years, she was still full of surprises, like when she got her beloved dog, Buttercup, who she let sleep in her bed and lick her. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, like a hot cup of coffee with lots of half-and-half, an ice-cold Coca Cola with not too much ice, fireworks in July, falling snow, Christmas lights, and pink roses.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence Crockett, and her eight children: Cynthia Crockett-Crowshaw, Mary Crockett, Michael Crockett, Kerry Wichroski, Kelly Gales, Craig Crockett, Christopher Crockett, and Kevin Patrick Crockett.
