Martha Alvarado Gonzales

Our dear mother Martha Gonzales sadly passed away on July 2nd, 2022, at the age of 78. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She was very loved and will be missed terribly.

Martha was born in El Paso, Texas on July 30, 1943. She was devoted to her church Maranatha Chapel, were she started attending in 1986. She worked in bookstore and loved being a greeter, until she no longer could. She was a hands-on mom and grandma who went to football, baseball, softball, soccer games and dance recitals. She could be heard by all cheering the loudest. She was so proud of all her children and grandchildren loved to hang out with them.

She is survived by her husband Guadalupe Gonzales; Daughter Cynthia Almazan, Son Mario Gonzales and daughter -in-law Corin Gonzales; Son by another Mother Tony Gonzalez. Cherished grandmother to Joseph (Liz) Carini , Matthew Collins, Jessica (Xavier) Smith, Sabrina Gonzalez, Brittany Almazan, Nicholas Moore and Brandon Ledesma. Great grandmother to Charlotte Carini.

Dear sister to Cristina (Audel) Cruz, Lydia (Juan) Lopez, Teri (Victor) Granados, and Gloria Hernandez Castaneda. Remember by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

She was preceded in death by her mother Consuela Garcia, father figure Jesus Hernandez, son Larry Almazan, daughter in law Lisa Carini Gonzalez, sister Bertha Mendoza, and brother Jesus Hernandez.

Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

Please join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday July 30th, 2022. The service will be held at 10:00 am at Maranatha Chapel, 10752 Coastwood Rd, San Diego, CA 92127 and a reception to follow at the home of Mario and Corin Gonzales, 28637 Mountain Meadow Rd, Escondido, CA 92026
