Mark was born November 6, 1934 in Lamesa, TX, and moved to San Diego at 6 years of age. He served in the US Air Force, finishing his term at Oxnard Air Force Base in California. Mark served the people of San Diego for 30 years as a San Diego Transit bus driver. He knew the city and its people well and never lost his love for the sea air of San Diego Harbor.
Mark and Verna were married for 65 years and lived in the same Spring Valley house for the last 55 of those years. There they raised their three children and hosted many of their friends. They were members of Skyline Wesleyan church for those five decades and served in various ways.

Siblings: James Agnew Jr (wife Moselle), Beth Butler (husband Dwain), Ladell Myers.
Children: Mark Agnew Jr. (San Diego), Robert (wife Penny) Agnew of San Diego, Paula (husband David) Durst of Lexington Kentucky.
Grandchildren: Michele Craig (husband Bradley), Gabriella Agnew, Amber Woods; Carrie Agnew-Schuft (husband Anthony), Lyle Agnew, Cassie Thompson (husband Steve), Allie Durst.
Great-grandchildren: Kyra, Kaylee, Bradley and Anthony Craig; Tyler, Samantha, Rylee and Aubree Schuft; Matthias, Benaiah, Emily and Oliver Thompson.
Great-great grandchild: Jaiden Craig.
A graveside service for Mark will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 3:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Rd, San Diego, CA 92121. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Southern Caregiver Resource Center, 3675 Ruffin Rd, Suite 230, San Diego California, 92123.
