Margarita Duran Gonzales, Margarita was born on September 11, 1911 in La Luz, New Mexico. Her parents were Josephine and Vidal Duran. When she was eighteen she meet Jesus Lujan Gonzales. After a short courtship they married. They had four children Jess, Margo, Pete and Hilario.
During World War II, Jesus joined the U.S. Marines and fought for our country in the Asiatic Pacific area. During his absence Margarita worked for the Dept. of Defense at Holloman Air Force Base in New Mexico packing parachutes for our soldiers. She was always proud that no one was ever injured during a jump that used a parachute she packed. When World War II ended the family moved to San Diego. Jesus worked for Civil Service at North Island. Margarita worked as a seamstress untill she retired. After she retired she was always helping her children in any way she could especially babysitting the grandkids then the great-grandkids.
She was always loving and kind and loved being around her family. We will always remember her unselfish love for all of us and never complaining about any problems she might have.
