Manuel A. Gomes born August 18, 1922 in Paul do Mar, Madiera Island Portugal. One of eight children. He was survived by his sister Pulqueria and many neices and nephews around the world. He was preceded by his parents Jose and Adelaide, sisters Maria, Olivia, Adelaide and Adelina, brother Joao. He spent time in the Portuguese Military and traveled the world to places like Argentina and Venezuela and finally ending in San Diego where he was a commerical fisherman and injured out at sea. Manuel passed peacefully at the age of 91 on December 12, 2013 and will be missed by many. God Bless your soul and rest in peace with the Lord. A visitation will be held at Beardsley-Mitchell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 19 from 4pm~7pm. A rosary will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 9:30am and Mass to follow on Friday, December 20 at 10:00am. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery.
