Luminosa was born in Papaya, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Sulpicio and Anita Mangulabnan. She was the second oldest of 7 children, but the oldest living at home, so she was used to being in charge. She graduated with a nursing degree in 1957 from the prestigious University of Santo Tomas. Luminosa, known as Ditse Mining with her family and Lulu in her nursing circles, began her career as a nurse in Canada in the 1960’s. Lulu was introduced to her husband, Claro Credo, by her best friend’s husband (who was Claro’s best friend) at her goddaughter's baptism. They married in 1972, and she moved to the United States. Their first daughter, Grace, was born at Great Lakes Naval Station, north of Chicago, and later Claro was stationed at Naval Air Station at North Island, San Diego where their second daughter, Daisy, was born. Lulu was a stay-at-home mom for the first few years and they settled in Mira Mesa in San Diego buying their forever home. Catholic education for her kids was a priority for Lulu and they were one of the founding families of Good Shepherd School in Mira Mesa in September 1982. She worked as an oncology nurse at Palomar Hospital in Escondido until retiring in 2002. Lulu took care of Claro in her retirement for several years doing his home dialysis before his death in 2011. She found her greatest fulfillment in providing for and spending time with family and practicing her Catholic faith as a dedicated parishioner of Good Shepherd Parish. She was overjoyed when her granddaughter was born in 2014. She is survived by her remaining siblings in the Philippines (Lito, Aida, Cora) and Canada (Medy, Lucy), two daughters Grace and Daisy, granddaughter Jocelyn, and son-in-law, Randy Vivian.
