Louise was born in Delight, Arkansas to Doyle and Carrie Johnson. She was raised in Prescott, Arkansas, the oldest of 5 siblings. In 1947, at 18 years old, she moved to Chicago where she met her future husband of 29 years, Eugene “Gene” Knaack. They were wed in 1949 and together raised 3 children on the north side of the city. They owned and ran a retail florist business on West Randolph Street until 1979 when he preceded her in death. She continued to run “Gene Knaack Flowers” until 1984 when she retired and relocated to San Diego where she lived a joyful, fulfilling life and was an inspiration to her family and friends for 30 years. She passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by her children and family after 22 months of wonderful Sharp Hospice in-home care. She is survived by her 3 children, Jeanie, Debbie and Lennie, her sister Janelle, her brother Curtis Lee, grandson Mark and numerous loving family members and friends who affectionately called her “Weezie”. She was preceded in death by her sisters Janette and Lois-Jean.
