She leaves behind her companion of 32 years, Michael Rosenthal; her son, Albert Akberdin; her cousin, Naomi Hamilton; 3 grandchildren, Cari Dreesmann, Erin Akberdin, Alan Akberdin and 5 great-grandchildren.
Lois was born and grew up in northern California. Even after moving to San Diego in 1959, she continued a lifelong love of the San Francisco Giants and she was an avid fan of San Francisco 49er football.
Lois worked as a senior claims adjuster at Crawford & Company and retired after 36 years. After her retirement she lived and active and passionate lifestyle. She learned to square dance, enjoyed spending time with her many friends, and most recently was learning to play bridge. Lois is remembered by the joy she brought to people in her life and the generosity she always showed to so many. Her friends and family remember her as a loyal, kind and caring person.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Abernathy Avenue, San Diego, CA.
Interment at Greenwood Memorial Park and Mortuary, 4300 Imperial Avenue, San Diego, CA. in the Salli Lynn Nature Garden, Niche 1254.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 am. Reverend Nathaniel Dreesmann officiating. Following the service a reception will be held at Clairemont Mortuary, 4266 Abernathy Avenue, San Diego, CA., at 11:30.
