Lisa Dawn Denton

Lisa Dawn Denton, 48, peacefully went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2015 at her home. She was born September 20, 1967 at Portsmouth General Hospital, VA to Pamela Oest and James Merritt. Lisa was a beautiful woman with a brilliant mind, kind heart, and gentle soul.

She attended Portsmouth Christian School, and later obtained a Real Estate license and enjoyed a successful career as an agent and property manager. Lisa married Ralph Denton on March 17, 2012. The two joined St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, San Diego, soon after and attended Bible study, including the 32-week Christian Believer. They were active in the Sunday Morning Pancake Ministry, The Annual Yard Sale, and many other church events and activities. They also visited church members no longer able to attend service.

Lisa participated in the San Diego “Walk to Emmaus” in April 2015 as a Pilgrim in E-106 that greatly enhanced her relationship and service to the Lord. She wrote letters, said prayers, and made Agape for the first-ever “Face-to-Face” Encounter held in San Diego in August 2015.

San Diego-based Senior dog Rescue group, Frosted Faces Foundation, greatly appreciated Lisa’s committed work in animal rescue, and for providing a “Forever Foster” home to its 50th rescue, Kasa. She spent countless hours sharing posts on social networks with groups in Virginia, Oklahoma, California, and many others states, desperately seeking to find homes and help for animals in need.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph Denton and Companion Dog Kasa Dawn, daughters Amber and husband Justin Boswell and their daughter Temperance, Meagan and husband Skylar Kihega, stepsons Josh, Chris, and Robert Denton and daughter Kalina, mother, Pam Oest, sister, Sharee Cogar, brother, Jeremy Wynn, “Nana” Mildred Benners, Aunts Susie Braman, Melva Lindsey, Deborah Baker, and JoAnne and husband John Thompson.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for Saturday, November 7 at 1:00 pm at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3502 Clairemont Drive, San Diego, CA 92117, (858) 273-1480. Everyone is Welcome to Attend.
