Leonardo Cruz Ladao, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born on October 30, 1934 in Subic, Zambales, Philippines. Leonardo served in the Navy for 20 years and retired, but continued to work with the Department of Defense for 15 years as an
Aircraft Engine Mechanic, a career he was very passionate about. He married his high school sweetheart, Purificacion Natividad on July 14, 1963. Together, they had 4 children, 3 daughters and a son. He lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures by spending time with friends and family, eating, drinking
wine, listening to jazz music and going down memory lane. Because of his love for jazz music at age 82, he tried to learn to play the saxophone.
Leonardo always enjoyed helping others fix anything and everything. Leonardo’s favorite times included traveling, tandem biking with his wife, kayaking, and windsurfing. One of his treasured moments was family gatherings for which he was most grateful. He and his wife instilled in the family the importance of faith. He is survived by his beloved wife, Puri of 56 years, son, Lawrence, daughters Leslie, Mary, and Carmel, and sons in law, Joe, Scott, and Jason and 6 grandchildren, Eric, Warren, Jackson, Kate, Olivia,
and Morgan.
