He is survived by his loving wife, Renee Linton, son Leif, to whom he was wholly devoted, his sister Susan Patzer of Spokane, Washington, and brother Jon of Burlington, Vermont.
Lars had a way of always walking up the bright side of the mountain, no matter how challenging the journey and was able to change the energy of every room he walked into.
His first 16 years were spent in Green Bay where his love of the Packers was permanently ingrained. Over the ensuing years as a medical sales executive, his colleagues described him as the Wikipedia of the industry. He treated all he serviced with respect and kindness and was loved by all.
Following in his Naval aviator father’s footsteps, Lars earned his private pilot’s license at an early age. By the mid 70’s he was an avid hang glider pilot, enjoying many sorties over Torrey Pines, after moving to San Diego in 1981.
The family wishes to express profound gratitude to the doctors and cargivers at Scripps Memorial and Scripps Green, and the care of the Season’s Hospice team, and to thank the countless employees, doctors and their staffs, friends, neighbors and parishioners at First Church for their avalanche of prayers, acts of love and kindness and warm embraces.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2015 from 10:00 to noon, with a reception to follow at San Diego First Church of the Nazarene, 3900 Loma Land Drive, San Diego, CA 92106.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Leif’s education fund at Scholarshare, account number 616682837, for information see www.scholarshare.com. Or to the youth program at San Diego First Church of the Nazarene at www.sdfcnaz.com.
