Kenny Andres Perez was born on January 5, 1995 in the city of Los Angeles to his mother Luisa Zamora Ruelas and was brought up under the loving care and support of his brother, Anthony Villalobos, and Anthony's wife Yessenia. He was a happy child growing up with his brothers Anthony and Nathan Villalobos, always smiling and full of love. He was shy but respectful and always won people over with his quiet charm and willingness to help anyone in need. Kenny loved and valued everyone in his life, especially his family and friends, as they all helped influence his life and mold him into the person he became. He maintained his childhood qualities throughout his formative years and became a kind, funny, and smart man in the process. Kenny was encouraged by his adopted parents Anthony and Yessenia to complete his education, graduating from Palomar High in 2013, and fully supported by them when he voiced his decision to become a United States Marine.
Kenny loved this country and had a strong desire to serve in the military. He felt proud to become a Marine and paid attention to every detail of the instructions he was given, from the treatment of his uniform to reporting for duty and beyond. He graduated in 2013 and was 1 of 5 that year to graduate in white, with Honors. He stood out to his superiors and his peers as a motivator – he made others feel supported and cared for, acquiring new brothers through training and trust. Kenny was loved and respected by all who met him because even in a brief period of time he could make a stranger feel like they were valued and understood. He was especially loved by children because of his sweet spirit and the way he would listen, laugh, and play with them for as long as they wanted. He especially adored his niece, Alanna, whom he protected as only a big brother would, caring for her and always making sure she was happy and safe. Lance Corporal Kenny Andres Perez passed away in a car accident on October 25, 2015 in San Diego, California. He was planning a future for his unborn child when his life was cut short. Kenny was a great man who would have been a great husband and father. He is not gone because he will forever live on in our hearts, thoughts, and memories. Rest in peace and 'Til Valhalla, Lance Corporal.
