I just learned about Ken's passing and am absolutely stunned and crushed by the news. I met Ken in seventh grade at St. James School in Denver, and like Jim Gubbins, also was a roommate/housemate of Ken's for two years at Colorado State University. I knew Ken's wonderful parents very well and always looked forward to his mom's tasty spaghetti sauce. Ken was always an amazing, natural athlete who excelled at a number of sports. He was an even better friend. I wish we had stayed in closer touch after Ken relocated to Southern California from the Bay Area. My heartfelt sympathies go out to Denise and family.

I was Kennys college roommate for 2 years. He and I were very good friends in high school. I knew Maude and Wilbur his parents. He was a great athlete and competitor. I am shocked and saddened at his passing. Our prayers go out to Denise and the family. It leaves me wishing I had kept in better touch with him.

I worked with Ken at SONGS.  We were both procedure writers. I had only been there a few days when Ken invited me to Denise and his wedding. That was typical Ken: magnanimous, fun, kind, smart, energetic. I will miss him.  My heart goes out to Denise and children.  May your hearts heal with the love he had for you!

Kenny was one of the best in NCSS-CD.  Always fun to play with or against.  We'll miss him hugely.

I was just getting to know the personal side of Ken over the last couple of months. We car pooled to Hemet and Perris for tournaments with the newly formed Weekend Warrior team and had a couple of meals together. His love of family matched his love of softball! I truly connected with him in the short time we played with our tournament team and enjoyed his banter with our team! He will be missed!!!                          Mark Hiltbrand Oceanside

I met Kenny only a few months ago playing senior softball in Carlsbad. In that short period I came to know him on the field and the dugout as a talented and jovial teammate with a wealth of softball knowledge. His tips on the field helped me as I adjusted to the league. I later learned of his many contributions to senior softball, which he gave freely because of his love for the game. Although I did not know Kenny for long, his presence has left a lasting impression and I will use his positive example as I help others in the future. Kenny will be missed but never forgotten. The annual tournament sponsored by North County Senior Softball Competitive Division each year is now the  Ken Perez North County Classic. Rest in peace Kenny.

Ken and I worked together at San Onofre since the mid-1980s. We carpooled for some of those years and shared a cubicle other years, so I had the privilege of having a multitude of hours for close and in-depth discussions with Ken.  We also played a lot of tennis together.  We both had an affinity for conservative thinking and living, so common ground was easily found.  Ken always impressed me with his never ending hunger for financial knowledge as he was always reading financial articles.  When most people would be bored to tears after a financial appetizer, Ken was enjoying all five courses with financial dessert.
My heart goes out to Denise and the kids.  Im going to miss you old friend, but the indelible mark you've made on all our lives will remain forever.

One of my favorite players in the league, always bringing his A game. Never passed up an opportunity for a verbal joust during the game. His quick wit often me made laugh at myself. I will miss you good buddy.

Always enjoyed playing ball with KP. He was always upbeat and also loved reffing the kids. We will miss you my friend, prayers to your family. RIP Ken
