Josephine DiCataldo was born on November 24, 1929 in Detroit Michigan and passed away October 22, 2018. In 1964 she married James DiCataldo and moved to San Diego, California and started a family. Josephine, who preferred to be called Josie, was a fun loving person who loved her family, friends and living life to the fullest! She loved cooking, baking and cake decorating. Josie had a talent for doing artistic creations such as painting and ceramics. She especially loved music and dancing to classics from the 40’s and 50’s. She loved people and having fun! She also loved anything that “sparkled”, which is how she acquired the nickname “Sparkles”. She was of Italian (Sicilian) descent and enjoyed Italian food and culture. Josie is survived by her two daughters, Lenette DiCataldo-Gray (Ron), and Gina Gutowski (Tony), brother Barney Cardella (Sandy), grandchildren Robert, Melissa, Mallorie and Trent. Her beautiful smile and laughter will surely be missed by us all.
