We grew up fondly calling him Manong Joe although he was actually our nephew. Being with him rarely during his visits in the Philippines made us feel his genuine love and concern for all relatives. No one was left behind. Mg. Joe and Ate Daisy were Mr and Mrs Generosity personified.  Mg. Joe stayed strong until the end, a legacy he wanted us to emulate. He went away but he left us with memories that will forever be remembered. His absence though  will be felt like the cold breeze of December  for all of us.  Rest peacefully, brother.

RIP Mr. Lutap.  I learned a lot from you in Yokosuka.

Joe Lutap with my brother Crescente during the Lutap family Grand Reunion in the City of Batac, Ilocos Norte Philippines.  Manong Joe, we think about you always & we talk about you still. We will hold you close and you will remain within our hearts💔It just sucks that now we have to remember you for longer than we have known you. Your life was a blessing to the  Lutap Clan. You gave all of us memories too beautiful to forget. We,(your uncles Romarico and Crescente Lutap & your auntie Lucille Lutap-Arcangel) and the whole Lutap  family in the Philippines, will sorely miss you…Rest well, ‘Manong’ Joe💐

Our hearts go out to you for the loss of our dear Pareng Joe.. We know how much he meant to you. We also cherish the memories we spent together in Christchurch New Zealand. specially our numerous trips to Lincoln college, to Picton,  Lyttleton n Queenstown. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back.  May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields.  And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand.
