On June 18, 2023, Jorge P. Pulido, loving husband to Asuncion N. Pulido (†) and father of three children and heirs, George Eric Pulido, Joy Sheila Pulido, and Jay Anthony Pulido, went to his Lord and Savior at the age of 87 in San Diego, California. He was also father-in-law to Jennifer and Laura and grandfather to Aleah, Anthony, and Alexander.
Jorge was born on February 22, 1936, in Lingayen, Philippines, to Valeriano and Simeona Pulido. In 1955, he graduated as Vice President and salutatorian of his high school class at the Pangasinan School of Arts and Trades. As a testament to the Pulido work ethic, he was voted "Most Industrious". On March 14, 1965, he married Asuncion (Susie), who he first met in the second grade.
He was founder, past President, and President Ex Officio of the Lingayen Circle of America. He served 22 years in the United States Navy and retired as a Senior Chief (DKSC). One commanding officer would write, “Disbursing Clerk Senior Chief Petty Officer Pulido is HEAD AND SHOULDERS above any other disbursing clerk I have known.” He then worked in the US Federal Civil Service, retiring after 17 years. Combined, Jorge would serve this nation and her sailors and marines for almost 40 years.
Jorge was admired as a dedicated father and great family leader. It was very important to him that family members support and care for each other. He never forgot his roots and would extend his support to his siblings and their families in the Philippines. Jorge was known for the life of the party with plenty of smiles and funny jokes. For this and more, he will be missed greatly.
