John Elwood Lucas

John Elwood Lucas was born September 14th, 1929 in Akron, Ohio to Dr. George Adam Lucas and Helen Brooker Lucas. He left this earth on March 14th 2017 and is now resting in the arms of His savior Jesus Christ. He leaves his beloved wife of 54 years Joan Lucas. Together they raised three daughters Lesa Dippert, Marilyn Lucas & Jennifer Hartley. There are two son-in-laws, Oren Hartley, Don Dippert and eight grandchildren

John graduated from Akron University and received a degree in civil engineering. While attending college he worked for the railroad and has always had an interest in trains. He served two years in the army and was stationed at the Yuma test station. After serving his country he entered the brokerage business. That is where he stayed for 58 years and enjoyed every minute of it.

Serving the Lord in his church as an elder at Mount Soledad Presbyterian church was one of John’s treasured activities.

John was an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling. He was loving, kind, patient, had a great sense of humor, and he always had a positive attitude towards life. He will be missed by many, family and friends.
