John will forever be remembered by countless friends and family whom were blessed to have known him. He started out as a commercial Fisherman in the Tuna Industry for 35 years. One of the fishing vessels was the Proud Heritage which he loved so much. He enjoyed the sea and was an amazing fisherman who took pride in his job. Then years after, he opened up his small Delicatessen business and was in that business for 20 years and then retired 4 years ago to spend quality time with his loving wife Conceicao, children and grandchildren. John enjoyed making home made Portuguese wine and caldeiradas with his buddies!! He loved to entertain in his backyard, showing off his tasty wine.
John touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. His last words was, "I will have my glass of wine once I'm out of this bed"
Friends and family are invited to attend John's Mass service on Wednesday, November 14th, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Holy Cross Catholic Cemetary, 4470 Hilltop Drive, San Diego, CA 99102-3651.
