John Robert Alcaraz aka “Bobby - Uncle Boo Boo” was born and raised in San Diego on June 7, 1938 to Helen and Henry Alcaraz. He passed away on May 30, 2016 at Scripps Mercy Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was an awesome, kind and fun loving person always running errands for everyone and never said NO.
Bobby enjoyed Western movies, going to the casino, camping and hunting with Tony and the Joe Morones family. He also loved going to the Ace Drive in.
He was the photographer for the family, always having a movie camera on hand, taking home movies. Although he never drove a car, he sure knew his way around town by bus, especially to the casino’s.
Although he never married nor had children of his own (“hum, thats what you think”, he would say) he was blessed with many Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews whom he loved very dearly, each in their own special way. He had a special bond with each one of them. Each one of them was his “favorite niecey” or “favorite nephew”, depending on who he was with at the time.
After the death of his father, he went to live with his brother Henry and remained there until his passing per our brothers request. Thank you Belen for your hard work and dedication.
He was predeceased by his parents Helen and Henry Alcaraz, and his brother Henry. He is survived by two sisters Sylvia Moran (Tony), Yolanda Alcaraz and Sister in law Belen Alcaraz.
He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Peace.
