Jeanne Lucile Hammack went home to the Lord on April 6, 2016. Her passing was sudden and unexpected and has left a tremendous void in our family. Jeanne was born and raised in Pacific Beach and was proud to be a native San Diegan. She attended Saint Bridget’s Catholic School and then went to Mission Bay High School. After her family moved to Rancho Santa Fe in 1959, she attended San Dieguito High School where she graduated. She and her good friend Andrew Moffitt were members of the Gesundheit Dancers, a German/Austrian/Swiss dance group. Jeanne loved to travel which took her on many cruises and a tour of Europe, something most of us will never get a chance to do. Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents Francis J. and Dorothy L. Hammack and good friend Andrew Moffitt. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by those whose lives she had touched. She is survived by her sisters Jacquie Hammack and Janice Hammack, her brother Michael Hammack and his wife Raquel Hammack, her children Sandra Burbank, Suzie Stokes and Paul Schillinger III, her 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. May she forever rest in peace in the hands of the Holy Father.
Finally, here is a note that Jeanne wrote many years ago and left for all of us:
Please, don’t cry for me! If you really love me, “Rejoice” that I go to the Father. For where I am is a far, far better place than I have ever been before.
For the past several years only in God has my soul been at rest and only in Him have I found true happiness.
So please be glad for me, that He has finally released me from this vale of tears and given me real happiness for all eternity.
Love,
Jeanne
P.S. Rejoice and be glad because “I am happy!” I love you!
