Thornburgh, his grandfather and grandmother George and Lissa Thornburgh; and an abundance of great aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many good friends.
Jay is predeceased by his mother, Ruthie Thornburgh Spear, his uncles David Thornburgh and Jack Spear, and his grandmother and grandfather, Suzie Cataline and John Spear.
Having worked successfully in the supermarket industry for twelve years, Jay decided to change careers this past summer. Jay’s current job brought him more joy and fulfillment than he could imagine. He liked his fellow managers and was proud and happy to do well for his supervisor and overall manager. They saw a true leader in Jay and mentored him on his path to a fulfilling career. One of the most rewarding projects at work, that Jay embraced fully, is the “Be a Good Person” program. His team bought the T-shirts, and then bought T-shirts for their co-workers and friends. The program is based on the notion that with difficulties all around us, we can contribute a positive message by simply ‘being a good person.’ And if we wear clothing that says, “Be a Good Person,” this can inspire even strangers just by reading those words.
When asked what relatives and friends had to say about Jay, some said, “He lit up the room.” And Jay was, “kind-hearted, respectful, had a strong work ethic, and was devoted to family, especially to his brother, Chase.”
Private services will be held for Jay’s family.
