James Richard Poteet

James Richard Poteet Jr, 84 passed away at home surrounded by his family on May 25, 2017. He leaves behind a wife, two daughters, three grandchildren, a great grandchild, a brother, sister, and many nieces and nephews. He proudly served in the Unites States Navy for 23 years then retiring and working as a civil servant for 22 years. In recent weeks he and his wife celebrated with family their 55th wedding anniversary. His passions in life were golfing and bowling. When golfing he never believed in using a golf cart and always walked all 18 holes. He had calves of steel.He was a well known bowler in Southern California and had numerous awards for bowling a perfect 300 game. He was always being asked for tips on golfing and bowling. He loved bragging about his grandchildren to everyone he met. He is at peace now in heaven with his favorite pet that he always enjoyed taking for walks. He may be gone but will always be in our hearts. We miss him and love him deeply.
