James "Papa" Marr
James Edward Marr, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend went home to the Lord on February 25, 2023. 
"Papa," as he was known to all those who love him, was born on October 9, 1937 in Madison County, Illinois, the second child of Forrest Fairield and Vina Marr. James grew up in Tucson, AZ. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelors of Arts in Electrical Engineering. James and Celona Kathleen Robertson were married in Tucson on June 9, 1962 and moved to San Diego the day after. 
James retired from SPAWAR in 1997. He had many hobbies and loves but his greatest pride and joy was his family including Celona, his beloved wife of 60 years, his two sons, James Edward Marr, Jr. and Ronald Scott Marr, and their wives. He is also survived by his five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 
A celebration of life will be held at Clairemont Emmanuel Fellowship Hall: 2610 Galveston Street. San Diego, CA 92110, on Saturday, March 11 at 11 AM. (Lower Parking lot)
