Frank G. Arroyo, 76 died February 16, 2017, he passed away peacefully at a nursing facility in La Jolla.
Mr. Arroyo was born on September 20, 1940, a loving husband to Kil U Arroyo, married April 4, 1968. Devoted father to John Arroyo, Frank G. Arroyo, III, Jane J. Arroyo, Rosalee E. Arroyo, and grandfather to Andrew M. McCarthy, Lisa M. McCarthy, Jason D. Barefoot, Zachary L. Arroyo, Gabriel M. Hoelzel, Julia G. Arroyo, and Sofia R. Hoelzel. Mr. Arroyo was also the older brother to his living siblings, Rosemary Jimenez, Rick Arroyo, and Louie Arroyo.
Mr. Arroyo severed honorably with the U.S. Army for 21 years and continued his service with the Department of the Navy for 30 years. He served a total of 51 years for the U.S. Government. Mr. Arroyo received a Bronze Star with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 6 Good Conduct Awards, National Defense Services Medal, Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Wait Citation, Army Service Ribbon, Oversees Service Ribbon (4) and Drill Sargent's Identification Badge. Mr. Arroyo was a woodworker, hazmat specialist, and ordinance inspector for the Department of Navy.
Mr. Arroyo dedicated his life to career and his family. Even with all the hardships and challenges with his family, or alone, he never quit on anyone especially his family. His personality and easy going attitude was what made him popular with so many people when he felt like being social.
I invite all who knew Mr. Arroyo to take moment to pray for him and to allow God to grant him enteral peace and rest. He will forever be missed by all.
