Born on November 22, 1946, to Gina Manprin Nunes and Frank G. Delgado in Redding, California, George's spirit heeded a too quick call to heaven on January 3rd, while brewing his first espresso that day. At the age of 76, George was a devoted family man, award-winning portraitist and hardworking servant to Christ.
In his youth, George thrived in the Valley of Heart's Delight (now Silicon Valley) as a friend, student, athlete with dedication and loyalty. A football scholarship launched him to California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, and after being deployed to Vietnam for military service, George achieved his BA at San Jose State University in a then special major of Photography & Graphic Arts. As a studio owner and photographer, he conducted over 500 professional headshots, 1,000 weddings, and 4,000 family portraits while exploring the ever-changing culture of art and technological advances as he progressed to black-and-white portraits evoking emotions in simple, classical expression.
Besides his artistry, George's passions involved his family and all of their interests, engaging in church roles, supporting veterans efforts and various nonprofit groups, and forwarding political discourse with great humor. Among his accomplished goals was living next to a golf course, viewing movies, reading biographies and business books plus enjoying at his landscaping tasks and as am European football (soccer) fan. Over 46 years ago and after George accepted the Lord, Karen also received the calling.
George is survived by Karen, his beloved wife of almost 45 years, and children: Ursella, Peggy, Brandon (Brandy), Sarah (Chris), and Katie (Brad), six grandchildren as well as sisters Jeanine and Mary plus brothers Gary and Bob, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is pre-deceased by twin sons: Brian and Christopher, his late parents: Gina Nunes and Frank Delgado, as well as step-parents: Ed Nunes, Alice Delgado and Sigrid Delgado, two sisters: Joyce Blackburn and Gail Ungurean. George will endearingly be remembered for his enthusiastic singing, deep value and love of his family including their projects, honoring his elders, his stunning photography, his deep regard for fellow photographers, and his steadfast love of Christ.
