Eva Ramos Martinez was born and raised in a small ranch town in Sombrerete Zacatecas, Mexico. She was one of 8 children of Sara Amador Ramos and Ramiro Ramos, whom she loved and cared for deeply. She was a hard working young lady who always helped her parents; especially in the ranch fields with her father and her two brothers. She loved the ranch life, riding horses and wearing her cowgirl attire any chance she had. By the tender age of 16 she came to the United States in search of a better life, and any opportunity Eva had from the United States, she selflessly tried helped to her parents and siblings back home, in Mexico.
In 1972 she met her husband Salvador D. Martinez while working as a nanny for Salvador’s cousin. By May 19, 1979 she married her husband, and on February 24, 1981 she had her first child, Sara Maria. A year and eight months later she was a mother for the second time on October 19, 1982 to Maria Isabel. She was a strong woman who fought and survived breast cancer in 1985. As she was going through chemotherapy she was given hope for life and became pregnant for the third time. Eva had her last child on January 16, 1988 to Miguel Antonio. In 2004, 2007, and 2016 she was filled with joy with her 3 grandsons. She had one more obstacle to overcome which she bravely survived ovarian cancer in 2009. Eva was a gentle and kind soul. She lived a happy, humble and generous life and was one of a kind.
Eva was always there for the entire family and friends. There was never a day, which went by, where she did not let her family know she loved them very much. Her doors to her house were always open, and everyone who walked through those doors received a warm welcome with open arms. She was a nurturer and motherly to anyone who came across her path. As she exited this world she has planted her seed in each one of our hearts and left her memories with us to bring a smile to our faces. Hold Eva’s memories dear to your heart and cherish the moments you made with her, for we must now not be selfish for her job here on this earth is done, and God has called her to return to His heavenly kingdom, we call home. Until we meet again Eva (Mom), you will be truly and extremely missed. We will always love you!
