Eden was born on November 21, 1965, in Portsmouth, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her father, Patrick Ollero and is survived by her loving partner, Danny McKenzie, two sons, Ernie Jr. and Rider, mother, Corazon Espiritu Ollero and four siblings, Oliver, Noe, Myra and Patrick Jr. She also leaves behind two nieces, Leiana and Mylie, two nephews, Christian and PJ and her extended family Dee and DJ McKenzie, Denise Ollero and Daryl Jacinto.Eden had an eclectic taste and expressed herself thru arts and crafts and even took up knitting and crocheting. Not only did she love to read a good book but she also loved to write. In junior high school she elected to take a journalism class and her skills and knowledge carried over into high school getting her the position of yearbook editor.Eden liked to be active and loved sports. In her youth she played for her elementary school basketball team; she performed with the Granger Jr High School drill team and then she returned to her love of basketball and played on the Sweetwater High School Girls Varsity team. She loved to watch tennis, was always down for a good bout of boxing and come football season, you could find her cheering on the Chargers.Growing up, Eden not only traveled between her dad’s Naval homeports but with the family on leisure trips as well. From her birth city in Virginia, they moved to Rhode Island, visited the Philippines and then settled in San Diego. On summer vacations the family took trips to Washington D.C., Colorado, New Mexico, Canada, the Bay Area and Las Vegas. They saw landmarks that included the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz Island, the Hearst Castle, the Grand Canyon, the Space Needle and the Hoover Dam. When she was older she went to Walt Disney World, Orlando and more recent trips include visits to her son, Ernie, in Washington, as well as several cruises with Danny and his family sailing the Mexican waters making stops in Cabo, Acapulco, Ixtapa, Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta. Eden was very family oriented. She was fortunate to have the time to volunteer in her sons’ classrooms and did as often as she could. Many days were spent out and about with Mom & Dad; she also spent time hanging out with Dee and they’d always managed to sneak in a stop to play ‘BINGO!’ She kept close contact with her siblings and their families as well as with her cousins – attending every family function that she could. Eden had a fun, carefree spirit and was always full of life. She was warm and inviting- making everyone feel comfortable and welcome, no matter the place. Eden had a kind and generous heart whose love had no bounds. If there was a need, she was the first to offer to fill it without hesitation or reservation, always putting others before herself. She had an optimistic outlook on life and loved life itself. To know her is truly a blessing. A loving mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend – Eden will be greatly missed.
