October 9, 1926 – February 13, 2022
Dorothy McAlexander lived a long, full Christian life reaching the age of 95 when she passed on to join her husband, Paul, and their only son, Robert, in Heaven. She was born in Conway, MO, lived in an orphanage for several years with her siblings during the Depression, then found her way to California after marrying her husband, Paul, at the ripe age of 13 !! Paul had joined the Navy and was sent to San Francisco. At her young age, she packed her bags, bought a train ticket and headed to San Francisco to be with her new husband. Paul was eventually stationed in San Diego where they bought a home, started a family, and grew roots. Dorothy was a dedicated and loving wife and mother. A story she relayed of eventually getting her drivers’ license without her husband’s “permission” (while he was at work), highlighted her spunky personality. She will be sorely missed.
Paul preceded Dorothy in death in 2006, as did her son, Robert in 2013. She decided to move to Morro Bay, CA in April 2017 to be near her daughter-in-law, Joyce McAlexander. She enjoyed living those several years in Assisted Living at Casa de Flores when in January 2022 she moved to Bay Osos Residential Care. Thank you to the loving & caring staff at Casa de Flores and Bay Osos Residential Care. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband at El Camino Memorial Park in San Diego, CA on March 2, 2022.
