SAN DIEGO – Doris B. Chambers, nee Andersen, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011, nine months after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
She was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Chicago. Before her death, she had been living with her son, Michael of San Diego, for nine years, and before that in McHenry and Burton's Bridge. She was a member of Evangelical Free Church in McHenry.
She was the wife of the late Harry R. Chambers Sr., whom she married May 3,1942; loving mother of Laura C. (James) Schwarz of Des Plaines, Patricia A. (James Michael Williamson) Marshall of Banks, Oregon, Bonnie L. (Ted) Ziegler of Schaumburg, Harriett (the late Raymond) Rossi of Littleton, Colorado, Susan K. (Dennis Sr.) Dalmann of Cary, John P. (Pamela) Chambers of Ringwood, Michael E. Chambers of San Diego, Kevin M. Chambers of Felton, California, and Steven A. (Tami) Chambers of McHenry; grandmother of 28; great-grandmother of 47; and great-great-grandmother of one.Besides her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Harry R. Chambers Jr. and David W. Chambers; and her grandson, Dennis A. Dalmann Jr.
