Doo Kwang Lee

Born on October 11, 1944 in Korea. As a young boy, Doo and his family were Korean War refugees who were forced to abandon their home in Pyongyang under communist occupation to migrate to Busan, South Korea. With determination, Dr. Lee studied to become a physician and eventually graduated from Yonsei University Medical School in 1969.

In 1973, Dr. Lee met his future wife Jung J Song, who was also a physician in Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Lee and his wife immigrated to America in 1974. In 1979, Dr. Lee completed his residency in Anesthesiology at St. Vincent Hospital in New York and has been a practicing physician in Northern California for almost 30 years.

Dr. Lee was a lifelong Christian who was a generous giver and devoted his time to helping others.

He was survived by wife Jung; children Patrick (Cassie) and Steven; as well as his grandchildren Elsie and Emmie.

Memorial service will be held on June 19, 2021 at 10:00am at San Diego Korean United Presbyterian Church. Graveside service will be held at El Camino Memorial Park.
