On Sunday October 6, 2019 Donald West Sr., loving husband, father of three children, passed away at the age of 81.
Don was born on January 5, 1938 in Wilmington, DE to Wallace and Amanda West. He Joined the U.S. Navy in 1955 and served as a Hospital Corpsman for over 30 years and retired as the Command Master Chief of Balboa Naval Hospital in 1985. He had a second career in sales in both cars and real estate. He married Sueko Nakachi in 1962. They raised three children, daughter Angela, and sons Donald Jr. and Michael.
He loved baseball and was an avid Padres fan. He also loved San Diego and watching wildlife visit his backyard.
Don was preceded in death by his father, Wallace and his mother, Amanda. He is survived by his wife Sueko, his three children, Angela, Donald Jr., Michael, his five grandkids and his brother Paul, as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
