Donald Paul Bontemps completed his earthly journey when GOD called him home on Monday, August 21, 2023.
Donald was born on January 10, 1939, in New Orleans, LA, to the late, Paul John Bontemps and Hattie Roy.
Donald married, Dorothy M. Stephen in 1960, and from this union they were blessed with three (3) children.
Donald graduated from Xavier preparatory High School and shortly after enlisted in the United States Navy. Donald moved up through the ranks and retired after 23 years of service as an E-7, Chief Petty Officer. Following military retirement, Donald was employed as an Aircraft Mechanic with the Airline formerly known as Flying Tiger, currently FedEx, based out of Los Angeles International Airport. Donald retired after 20 plus years of service.
Donald spent his retired years with family and pursuing his hobbies of fishing, watching NASCAR racing, completing crossword puzzles and sharing stories of his many life adventures.
Donald leaves to cherish his memories, Wife, Dorothy M. Bontemps, Children, Daughter Donna Dixon (husband Roger), two (2) Sons, Donald P. Bontemps, Jr., and Douglas P. Bontemps, three (3) Grandsons, Stephen Dixon, Donald P. Bontemps III, Dorian Dixon, four (4) Great Grandchildren, Sister, Paula Jean Jones and a host of cousins, nephews, and nieces as well as many faithful friends.
